Services Overview

Whatever you’re working on, whatever stage of manuscript, I’m here to help.

A diagnostic tool to discern what self-editing, research, and organization are necessary before you start developmental editing and sending to publishers. This is usually for writers who don't know if their book has what it takes, for writers who don't know what they don't know, or for writers who are stuck.

A highly collaborative content editing service designed to examine all the nooks and crannies of the plot, characters, organization, subject matter, reader perspective, etc. of a book the writer intends to bring to market. This is usually for writers who know their book and voice, but want a professional perspective.

A creative service focused on elevating the writing style (voice, creativity, and flow) of the book on a sentence level. This is usually for writers still finding their unique flavor, struggling to articulate concepts, or otherwise lacking strong writing craft. This is not the same thing as a copy edit.

A straightforward, black-and-white clean-up service to fix errors in grammar, punctuation, style, spelling, basic formatting, sentence clarity, proper headings, citations, and consistency. Every writer needs this service to present themselves as professionals. Grammarly is a wonderful start, but it cannot catch everything.

In self-publishing, after a book has been typeset, professionals across the board recommend reading and correcting the book one more time for grammar, punctuation, style, spelling, etc. with a more "only the obvious and necessary" take. It's typically done in a PDF with markup and sent to the typesetter.
